Caring for your Faust Print

The imagery has been created through the application of pigment onto canvas. So, exercising the same care that would be given an original painting is appropriate.

— Display your print away from direct sunlight.

— Avoid temperature and humidity extremes.

— Exercise care when handling your print because natural skin oils can cause staining or discoloration.

— Your print can be carefully wiped with a damp cloth.

Framing/Stretching Instructions

Jeff Faust original paintings are displayed in galleries on stretcher bars. The border of white, unpainted canvas covers the sides and back of a 1.5 inch stretcher bar. The front view is of the image without a border.

The giclees are printed in a manner that allows for the same look. A 3 inch unpainted canvas border is specified in the printing process to allow for mounting on a fairly deep (1.5 inch) stretcher bar.

Tips for the framer:

· Place the giclee face down and mark all four corners with a pencil.
· Line up the corners of the stretcher bar with pencil marks.
· The corners should be folded neatly on the top and bottom planes. (Do not fold on the sides where they would be visible).
· Staple at the corners first, followed by the rest of the canvas.

Some galleries and collectors prefer to frame Faust paintings. The artist considers frames an acceptable alternative.
